Older Still Lifes

Most artists start out painting still lifes.  They are good tools for learning basic shapes, lines, contrasts, shadows and composition.  Although many artists eventually move onto more challenging subject matter, there remains the allure of studying the nuances of an object in detail.  I don't do as many still lifes as I used to, reserving them mostly for winter months.  And most of the ones that I do paint are close up studies.  These are some of my older pieces, most of which are sold except where indicated.
