| Color. Color. Color.
Every artist is compelled to
create due to one particular thing. Sometimes it's line or shape,
sometimes the contrast between light and dark. Perhaps it's
patterns or an interest in a certain subject which strums his internal
chords. Maybe she wants to make a political statement or voice an
opinion through her art. Artists approach their art from many
points and with varying talents, opinions and techniques. But they
all arrive at a place where they want to share what they have created
with someone.
In my case, I find that it is color which makes my
heart sing and brings a smile to my face. Yes, I love all the
other stuff - form and composition, light and dark, certain subjects
more than others - but in the end, I see colors that no one else seems
to see.
Come along with me and view the world of color
through my eyes.

This painting was recently selected to be showcased
in Lt. Governor Becky Skillman's Hoosier Women Artists exhibit in her

from over 180 entries, it is quite an honor. Many thanks, Lt.
Governor Skillman!

Saturday Morning, oil on canvas, 38" x 40", $3,500
Anyone who lives in a rural area is familiar with this
scene on Saturday mornings. And that is the title of the painting.
Guys working with an economy of motion, almost in a ballet. Can
you pick up the atmosphere of the cold, frosty air?
